Oceanside, CA–North County Transit District (NCTD) will offer free rides across its transit services on Election Day, November 3, to help San Diego County residents reach polling places, vote centers and ballot drop-off locations.
The fare-free program will apply to Coaster, Sprinter, Breeze, Flex, Lift and NCTD Plus services, allowing riders to use public transportation to participate in the election.
All passengers will be eligible for free rides, regardless of whether they are voting. Riders will not be asked if they are participating in the election, and no proof of voting will be required. Passengers also will not need a Pronto card or valid fare to ride.
NCTD services will operate on their regular weekday schedules throughout Election Day.
Passengers using NCTD Plus, the district’s on-demand transportation service, can access free rides by entering the promotional code VOTE2026.
The initiative is intended to make transportation more accessible for voters traveling to election-related destinations across North County and the broader San Diego region.
Amtrak Rail 2 Rail and MTS services are not part of this promotion, officials said.
