ESCONDIDO–Palomar Health Foundation has appointed Debbie Young as a new board member at their January 26 meeting.

The appointment is part of the board’s view toward increasing its board composition and diversity to more fully represent the North County communities served by Palomar Health District Hospitals. Several other nominees are being considered for appointment at the Foundation Board’s upcoming on March 29.

Debbie Young is the president of Sculpt Nouveau, a specialty coating and surface finishes company in Escondido, CA, which she has managed for more than 20 years. She was raised in the Los Angeles area and moved to Escondido to start a family.

Young is a board member of Escondido Rotary East and the Escondido Community Child Development Center. She is active in the community, supporting the Chamber of Commerce and now, Palomar Health.

Jean Larsen, president and chief philanthropy officer, is highly enthusiastic over this new appointment. “Debbie has already demonstrated great interest, involvement and investment as an advocate for Palomar Health within the community,” Larsen says. “We are positively delighted with her recent appointment.”

Palomar Health Foundation is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization raising annual funds to support the highest and most urgent needs of Palomar Health District Hospitals which include Palomar Medical Center, Palomar Hospital-Downtown Campus, and Pomerado Hospital. Generous donations, pledges, corporate and service group support aids the District’s in its mission, “To heal, comfort, and promote health in the communities we serve.”
