SAN DIEGO–Millennium Laboratories, a leader in the science of medication monitoring and pharmacogenetics, today announced it has hired Nikhil A. Nayak as chief marketing officer; Steven K. Soe as chief compliance officer; and Michael E. Flowers as vice president, government operations.

Nikhil A. Nayak, Millennium’s chief marketing officer, has nearly two decades of experience with all aspects of marketing, including life cycle product management, finance, global commercialization, managed markets and digital strategies. Over the course of his career at Forest Laboratories, Inc., Nayak held a variety of positions in sales, marketing and business development. He most recently served as executive director, global marketing and early commercialization, where he steered the successful approvals and launches of several products in Canada, Europe and Latin America. He was the head of the Namenda franchise, accelerating growth to blockbuster status for this Alzheimer’s drug while overseeing future development programs. He was also instrumental in the successful launches of Bystolic, and the blockbuster anti-depressants, Celexa and Lexapro, for which he was recognized as part of Medical Marketing & Media’s 2003 “Brand Team of the Year.” He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Washington University in St Louis and his master’s in business administration from New York University, Stern School of Business. Nayak will focus on re-positioning Millennium for sustained growth and developing strategies to launch innovative products and services to meet the needs of Millennium’s customers and their patients.

Millennium’s Chief Compliance Officer, Steven K. Soe, brings over 15 years of experience building and implementing health care compliance programs. Soe will oversee the strategic development of Millennium Laboratories’ health care compliance program to ensure that the company retains a best-in-class program within the clinical laboratory industry. Most recently, he served as vice president, chief compliance officer for AssureRx Health, and before that developed and implemented health care compliance programs at both Genentech and Johnson & Johnson. Soe received his bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and attended Western State College of Law in Fullerton, Calif.

Michael E. Flowers, Millennium’s vice president, government operations, brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in health care. Over his career, he has built commercial sales organizations, launched multiple major brands across a variety of disease states, delivered sustained growth, and managed collaborations with partner companies. Flowers most recently served as vice president, government accounts for Walgreens, the nation’s top drug store chain, where he developed and executed all sales strategies within all government channels of business, focusing on the growth of infusion, specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy and vaccine products. Prior to starting his career in pharmaceutical sales, he served for nine years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps followed by 15 years in the reserve component, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. While serving with the U.S. Marines in support of the Global War on Terrorism he spent extensive time abroad, providing leadership and planning in conjunction with anti-terrorism operations throughout the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Gulf. Flowers earned his bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California and his graduate degree in management from Webster University in St. Louis.
