San Diego, CA–Every year, the Callaway Golf Company Foundation selects one military charity to support, and this year Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) was named its national charity partner.
STEP received a $50,000 gift from the foundation, which will help aid military families and service members in need of financial assistance in the San Diego and Washington regions.
“After learning about STEP’s mission and efforts to support military members in need, the Board agreed that the programs and services provide great tools for financial stability,” says Becky Fine, Callaway Golf Company Foundation Board Member. “The work that STEP does is transformative for military members who are facing financial hardships, especially after service. We’re honored to provide this gift to such a deserving organization that aids our country’s heroes who protected us.“
“For over a decade, STEP relies on donations like this to continue to provide financial assistance to our military service members, veterans, and their loved ones,” says Tony Teravainen, CEO and co-founder, Support The Enlisted Project. “This gift from Callaway Golf Company Foundation empowers our team to reach more military members and families in need of financial relief and respite.”
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation strives to create healthy communities where their stakeholders live and work. Their focus is to support programs that improve lives and contribute to communities on a select basis. The foundation also catalyzes for their employees to become involved in and contribute to their communities.
Support The Enlisted Project has just completed its 11th year serving young military and Veteran families facing financial crisis. As a nonprofit, community-funded agency, STEP has positively touched 250,000 military lives and boasts a 90% success rate at permanently changing financial behaviors over the 7,400 families served through its Emergency Financial Assistance Program. The organization’s future 10-year strategy is to expand beyond Southern California and Washington State to serve more families across the United States.
