Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar locations owned and operated by Flynn Group, has officially kicked off its annual fundraiser supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research and family support programs.

Since the partnership began in 2005, Flynn Applebee’s restaurants have raised more than $8.7 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and pediatric cancer research, funding over 170,000 hours of research to help scientists find more cures for children with cancer.

Now through August 30, Applebee’s restaurants will transform into lemonade stands as part of a seven-week campaign to raise funds in the fight against childhood cancer. At participating Flynn Applebee’s locations, guests can support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with every sip, as 50 cents from each Lemon Berry Sunshine, 25 cents from every regular or flavored lemonade, and 10 cents from each Mucho Blushing Dragon, Mucho Prickly Plunge Margarita and Mucho Blackflippn’ Blue Margarita will be donated to the foundation.

“For more than two decades, Applebee’s and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation have come together to support families affected by childhood cancer,” said Greg Flynn, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Flynn Group. “We’re grateful for the continued generosity of our guests and the commitment of our restaurant teams who help bring this important cause to life in their local communities. Together, we’re proud to continue raising funds and awareness to support the fight against pediatric cancer.”

Guests can also support the cause through a variety of donation options, including in-restaurant digital donations at checkout in increments of $1, $5, $10 or $20. Online donations can be made through the “Digital Lemon” category on the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation menu at Applebees.com or the Applebee’s mobile app, or by selecting the “Donate Now” button during gift card purchases.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was established in 2005 to continue the mission of Alexandra “Alex” Scott. While fighting her own battle with neuroblastoma, Alex set up a lemonade stand in her front yard to raise money for “doctors to find a cure for all childhood cancers.” Since her first stand, the foundation has grown into one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the country, raising more than $250 million and funding over 1,000 research projects. In 2021, one of those research projects led to the discovery of a cure for a specific type of neuroblastoma – the disease that Alex fought hard against.
