Carlsbad, CA–A 67-year-old motorcyclist killed in a vehicle collision on January 17 at an intersection in Carlsbad was identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The motorcyclist was identified as Laszlo Nagy of Carlsbad.

According to Carlsbad Police, Nagy was traveling eastbound on Cannon Road approaching its intersection with the Interstate 5 north onramp and offramp at the same time as a Toyota van exited the I- 5 north offramp at Cannon Road. The driver of the van entered the intersection and traveled northbound across Cannon Road to enter the north onramp as the motorcycle entered the intersection and collided with the front of the van. 

Nagy was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death was blunt force injuries of the torso and extremities.
