Panama City, Panama–Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and a member of the global Star Alliance airline network, has officially inaugurated its new route to and from the city of San Diego,
This addition expands the airlines’ U.S. network, strengthening its presence on the West Coast and enhancing connectivity between Latin America and Southern California via its Hub of the Americas in Panama City, Panama.
“The launch of our San Diego route marks a significant milestone in solidifying our connectivity on the West Coast of the United States. This new destination not only broadens the geographic reach of our operations but also reinforces our role as a bridge between Latin America and strategic regions across the continent through the Hub of the Americas. In addition to meeting growing demand for business, academic, and leisure travel to Southern California, this route also opens new opportunities for travelers to discover the wonders of our country through the Panama Stopover program,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.
The Copa Airlines non-stop flight to and from San Diego to Panama City, Panama (CM847) operates four (4) times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing from Tocumen International Airport at 1:16 p.m. (local time) and arriving at San Diego International Airport at 5:54 p.m. (local time). The return flight (CM850) will operate on the same days, departing from San Diego at 9:06 p.m. (local time) and arriving in Panama City at 5:20 a.m. (local time) the following day.

San Diego, located in Southern California, is known for its cultural diversity, world-renowned attractions, and economic influence. Among its top attractions are Coronado Beach, La Jolla Cove, and the San Diego Zoo. The city also boasts rich and cultural landmarks such as Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

Copa Airlines operates an average of more than 375 daily flights through its Hub of the Americas, connecting over 80 destinations in 32 countries across North, Central, and South America, and the Caribbean.
