SAN DIEGO–Triple Eight Clash at Clairemont, the action sports party with a purpose, will be held on September 21 at the YMCA’s Krause Family Skate and Bike Park in San Diego.
In its 12th year, the family-friendly event brings the biggest names in skateboarding and BMX together in a festival atmosphere at one of the premier skateparks in the world, all while raising funds and awareness to help crush cancer.
Triple Eight Clash at Clairemont is a full day of action that benefits the YMCA’s skatepark as well as Grind for Life, a cancer charity founded by two-time survivor and lifelong skateboarder Mike Rogers. Grind for Life provides financial assistance for cancer patients and their families when traveling for treatment.
“This is a great event with a long history and we are excited to be part of it,” said Bobby Oppenheim, Triple Eight President. “Our goal is to make it one of the premier live events in action sports. It’s a perfect formula with jam-style formats that get the best riders together at the ideal skatepark right in their backyard. Fans and families get to interact with the athletes and listen to some great tunes, and it’s all for a good cause.”

Throughout the event fans can watch professional skateboarders and BMX riders like Macdonald, Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Greyson Fletcher, Jordyn Barratt, Ryan Sheckler, Christian Hosoi, Elliot Sloan, Mitchie Brusco, Kevin Staab, Jeromy Green, Trey Wood, Paul-Luc Ronchetti, Bucky Lasek, Bryce Wettstein, Alex Sorgente, Nora Vasconcellos, Tom Schaar, Beaver Fleming, Simon Tabron, Mykel Larrin, Dennis Enarson, Gary Young, and many more ripping on the vert ramp, street course, concrete bowl, and Skatercross track.
A fan favorite, SkatercrossSkateboard Racing returns to the world’s first and only track in 2019. The vision of Macdonald, a 23-time X Games medalist, Skatercrossfeatures multiple riders racing each other side-by-side on a course full of jumps, berms, gaps, and hurdles with ample opportunities for passing and crashing.
Fans will have the chance to mingle with their favorite skaters and BMX riders during a huge autograph session.
Live music has always been a big part of the event and this year the iconic punk band Black Flag will be rocking pool-side with founder Greg Ginn and skateboard legend Mike Vallely fronting.
Triple Eight Clash at Clairemont will offer up various food and drink options as well as a large vendor village.
