San Diego, CA–San Diego Strike Force Head Coach David Beezer announces the 2022 coaching staff, reflecting a deep connection with the San Diego area, and experience coaching and playing at all levels of the game.

“I’m really privileged to work with such a great group of coaches. Each member of the coaching staff is experienced and really cares about player development and creating a winning environment for our city and organization,” said Beezer.

Taylor Genuser first joined the San Diego Strike Force as its Offensive Coordinator in 2019. In 2020, during the team’s hiatus, he served as San Diego Mesa College’s Quarterbacks coach. He previously served as the quarterbacks and running backs coach, JV Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for Clovis West High School, quarterbacks and running backs coach at Clovis North, and quarterbacks coach for Helix High School. After his own college career at New Mexico Highlands University, Genuser spent a season with the developmental AAA SoCal Coyotes. He has indoor football experience as a player, with the Iowa Barnstormers and the Duke City Gladiators.

Steven Thompson makes his professional coaching debut with the Strike Force in 2022. He has indoor experience as a player from the Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, and Arena Football2. Thompson has served as Linebacker Coach at El Camino College and Buena Park High School, where he was also the co-defensive coordinator. He founded the Enforcer Linebacker Academy back in 2012, regarded as the “nation’s leader in linebacker development.” His academy has been instrumental in the development of almost 100 college and pro linebackers. Thompson currently works as a management consultant for Invisible Hours HQ, and is a Scouting Coordinator and Assistant Linebacker Coach for the 2022 Hula Bowl.

James Kilmer first joined the San Diego Strike Force coaching staff in 2019 in the same role. He is known in San Diego as a morning show co-host for ESPN Radio 1700. Kilmer also served as the Linebackers and Running Backs coach for the former San Diego Riptide minor league indoor football team for four seasons, and running backs coach at San Diego Mesa College.

Steve Anno first joined the Strike Force coaching staff in 2019 in the same role. He’s had a successful career at the pro, college, and high school levels. He previously coached for the Oakland Raiders, University of San Diego, Central Connecticut State University, USC, Venice High School, Santa Monica High, and Santa Monica Catholic.

As a player, Anno spent seven years in the NFL as a linebacker and long snapper with the Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Diego Chargers. He earned NFL Special Teams Player of the Year honors in 1989.

Darren Carrington makes his professional coaching debut with the Strike Force but is not new to professional football. After being drafted in 1989 in the fifth round by the Denver Broncos, he played eight years in the NFL also with the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders. He’s coached at the high school level for a decade, including at Kearny High School.

Marques Clark has played at the highest level of professional football, for the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers. He spent five years coaching wide receivers for Westview and Mount Carmel High Schools.

The Strike Force is currently in training camp. The 2022 season begins on March 21 away against the Bay Area Panthers; opening night is March 28 against the Arizona Rattlers.
