Oceanside, CA–The O’side Turkey Trot, produced by San Diego Running Company, is returning for its 19th annual trot and has announced the new O’side Turkey Trot Double Dip challenge.
The challenge consists of participating in the two 5Ks offered on race morning starting at 6:45 a.m. and 8:05 a.m., both along the same classic O’side Turkey Trot 5K course. Those who complete the challenge will take home three medals, one for each race and a third one-of-a-kind Double Dip medal. Race morning will feature the Kids 1 Mile race for ages 7 to 12, and the Kids 1/5 Mile for ages 6 and under.
The O’side Turkey Trot’s scenic beachside course has led to its recognition as one of the Top Trots in the country by Runner’s World Magazine and the Los Angeles Times and attracts visitors from 46 States and 460 cities. The course starts on Coast Highway and ends behind the amphitheater on the strand in Oceanside, featuring a fast 5K course with flat stretches, water views, and ocean breezes, making it a great course for all paces and ages. While the event has sunsetted its five-mile course, the Double Dip challenge is designed to appeal to runners looking to log more miles on Turkey Day.

As we continue to produce this iconic event, we strive to focus on the runner’s experience, while still keeping that classic O’side Turkey Trot energy that everyone loves.”
Race week will also feature the O’side Turkey Trot Health and Fitness Expo on Nov. 27, the day before race day. Participants are invited to pick up their race day packets at the expo, as well as explore the vendors showcasing runner-friendly products and services. The largest team competition will also be offered this year, where the top five largest teams with over 20 members will receive $100 gift certificates.
The O’side Turkey Trot will be partnering with the Move Your Feet Before You Eat! foundation once again. The Carlsbad-based foundation was created to promote health and well-being through incorporating regular physical fitness into daily life.
The foundation donates to local schools and nonprofits that encourage physical activity. To date, the event has raised over $500,000 for nonprofits that serve O’side residents.
