Coronado, CA–A woman’s body found floating in Glorietta Bay in Coronado Monday died from accidental drowning, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reports.

The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted the autopsy Tuesday of 68-year-old Patricia Viola. 

Coronado and Harbor police officers Monday responded to a 7 p.m. report of a body floating in the water in Glorietta Bay, near the 1900 block of Strand Way, said San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Thomas Seiver.

Officers located a woman in the water and attempted life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Authorities said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
