Possible witnesses to the murder of a Fallbrook man.

FALLBROOK–Sheriff’s homicide detectives are searching for witnesses in a deadly stabbing in Fallbrook.

The incident occurred January 22 before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Ammunition Road near an Albertson’s grocery store.

Three men in their 20s attacked and stabbed Hugh Pettigrew as he was walking home. He died from his injuries at a hospital on February 9.

In the surveillance video, the three suspects can be seen walking in front of an SUV. A car was also seen pulling into a parking space as the suspects were returning to their car. Detectives would like to speak to the SUV and car driver as witnesses.

Detectives are looking for witnesses who were at the Albertson’s parking lot on January 22 between 10:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. They are urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321.
