OCEANSIDE–Oceanside police homicide detectives last week arrested two people in connection with the June 1 fatal shooting of an Oceanside man at The Strand near the Junior Seau Amphitheater.

On June 2, police officers arrested 21-year-old Bianca Madrigal, an Oceanside resident. One day later, 18-year-old Jose Rodriguez, also an Oceanside resident, was arrested. Both have been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Ines Villa and gang participation.

Madrigal’s arraignment has been set for June 6 at the Vista Courthouse. Rodriguez’ arraignment date is pending.

On June 1, just after 7 p.m.,  the Oceanside police department responded to calls of shots fired in the 200 block of The Strand. Upon officer’s arrival, Villa, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound, was found in the area of the bleachers. He was in the process of being transported by air when he succumbed to his injuries at 7:44 pm.
