CARLSBAD–Two juveniles, a 17-year-old female and a 14-year-old male,  were arrested in connection with a fire at a Carlsbad playground early Monday morning, Carlsbad Police Department said.

On April 8 at 3:48 a.m., Carlsbad police received a call about a fire at a playground located at Sweetwater Street and Coral Reef Avenue.

Carlsbad firefighters responded to the scene and were able to extinguished the blaze.

Early investigation by the fire department investigators revealed that the fire was started by an unknown accelerant. A second fire location was found in the roadway at the Coaster Station located in the 6500 block of Avenida Encinas. 

The investigation is ongoing.
