San Marcos, CA–Three adults and two juveniles in a vehicle were taken into custody on weapon charges following a traffic stop in San Marcos early Friday morning, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for speeding around 1 a.m. in the 200 block of San Marcos Boulevard.
The vehicle was occupied by the driver, 19-year-old Gabriel Perezruiz, and his passengers 19-year-old Gabriel Guzman, 21-year-old Christian Fernandez, a 15-year-old juvenile, and a 17-year-old juvenile.
During the traffic stop, officers saw a handgun on the rear floorboard of the vehicle. All the occupants of the vehicle were detained. Upon investigation, officers discovered the handgun was an unserialized ghost gun. The occupants were arrested for various weapons charges. The three adults were booked into Vista Detention Facility and are currently in custody on $82,000 bail.
The two juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall.
