SAN MARCOS–Thousands of people in north county gathered at Palomar College Saturday in solidarity with the nationwide 2018 Women’s March.

This year’s march focused on issues including human and women’s rights, justice for women of all ethnic backgrounds, immigration, voter registration, education, and other women’s causes.

The rally included speakers Sharon Elise and Kathleen Lambert, live entertainment by Peace and Freedom Singers, Zumba by Allessandra Colfi, Casey Hensley Band with Laura Chavez, Japanese drummers, and an indigenous welcome by Esmeralda Hummingbird.

At the end of the rally, demonstrators-some with signs in their hands-marched to the San Marcos Civic Center and back to the campus.

The Women’s March North County coincided with another march that was held in downtown San Diego.
