San Diego, CA–Ten people–nine of them enlisted members of the U.S. Navy — were arrested Tuesday following a joint investigation into a violent assault in Jamul last year, authorities said.
On Feb. 24, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service conducted a coordinated operation targeting suspects connected to the May 3, 2025 attack.
Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station initially responded to reports of an assault at a house party in the 14000 block of Proctor Valley Road. While en route, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received additional information indicating the suspects were armed with firearms and that one victim had sought medical help at a nearby fire station.
Deputies located the victim at the station suffering from severe head and facial injuries. The victim told investigators they had been attacked by a group and pistol-whipped. They were transported to a hospital with major injuries.
The subsequent investigation identified 10 suspects allegedly involved in the assault. Authorities said nine were active-duty sailors, and several were believed to have ties to criminal street gangs.
Detectives coordinated with NCIS throughout the investigation. Arrests were carried out Feb. 24 by Sheriff’s detectives, the East County Gang Task Force, the San Diego Fugitive Task Force and the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail.
The suspects were taken into custody at multiple military installations, including Naval Air Station North Island, Naval Base San Diego, Naval Medical Center San Diego and Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, as well as at a residence within the city of San Diego.
Five firearms and $20,000 in cash were also recovered during the operation.
The 10 suspects were arrested on several felony charges related to the assault and weapons possession. They were all booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
The suspects arrested were: Ksahno Isles, Demario Ricks, Isaiah Pearson, Answer Adams, Lawrence Hodge, Jaharai Wiggins, Robert Green, Gary Cannon, Eric Frierson, and Timothy Blair.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office thanked the U.S. NCIS for their assistance with the investigation and operation.
