Spring Valley, CA–Sheriff’s investigators are searching for a man who allegedly grabbed a 13-year-old girl walking home from school in Spring Valley.

It happened on March 11 around 4 p.m. as she was walking home from Spring Valley Academy. The incident was reported to the Sheriff’s Department on March 14.

The girl told detectives she was walking at the intersection of Conrad Drive and Campo Road when a man came up from behind, grabbed, and inappropriately touched her. Other students in the area yelled at the man who walked away towards Conrad Drive. The students then went home.

Deputies searched the area after the incident was reported, but were unable to find the suspect. They are conducting extra patrols in the area to identify the suspect.

The girl and witnesses describe the suspect as a white man between 29 and 30-years-old with short, curly, red hair, freckles, and crooked teeth. He was wearing reading glasses and had a clean-shaven face.

Authorities said the incident matches the description from another one that occurred on February 28. A 13-year-old student told detectives she crossed a parking lot of a nearby drug store in the 9600 block of Campo Road when a man inside a black Toyota Prius asked if she needed a ride. She says she declined and that’s when the driver demanded she gets into his car. The girl told detectives she ran across the street to avoid the situation. She made it to campus safely and reported the incident to the school staff.
