SAN DIEGO–Sheriff’s detectives continued their investigation into the fatal physical assault of a male inmate at the South Bay Detention Facility this month.
The victim was identified as Javier Solis Flores, a 19-year-old resident of Spring Valley. Flores was pronounced deceased on September 11, according to authorities.
The preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death is homicide, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. The victim’s family has been notified of his death.
Flores was booked into custody on March 12 by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for attempted murder, attempted robbery, shooting at a person from a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
