Oceanside, CA–A male pedestrian seated on the center median was killed Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Oceanside and College Boulevards, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:19 p.m. and determined that a black Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard struck the victim just east of College Boulevard.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, an adult male, remained at the location and cooperated with investigators. Police said there was no indication the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Oceanside Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating the collision. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
