Escondido, CA–A major commercial fire severely damaged four suites in a strip mall in Escondido Saturday night, fire officials said.
The Escondido Fire Department dispatch received reports of a fire at the mall at 310 Andreasen Drive just after 6 p.m.
According to fire officials, a large column of smoke was visible from a distance, leading authorities to upgrade the call to a three-alarm commercial fire. Fire engines from Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Rancho Santa Fe, and Deer Springs responded to the scene.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire engulfed multiple suites in the building. They successfully contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. Four suites were saved.
