Oceanside, CA–A 23-year-old Escondido man has been arrested in connection with a physical assault involving a baseball bat in Oceanside on March 22, authorities said.
The Oceanside Police Department responded to a 911 call at 2:18 a.m. reporting an attack. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from severe blunt-force trauma. The victim was rushed to a local trauma center, where he remains in critical condition.
Following an investigation by the department’s Crimes of Violence Unit, police identified Hunter Meyer as the suspect. On Monday, officers located and arrested Meyer without incident at his workplace in Escondido. He was taken into custody and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
