SANTEE–Deputies from the Santee Station saved a man’s life after he attempted to injure himself by jumping off a bridge over State Route 67.
Deputies responded to a radio call of a male preparing to jump off the Greenfield Drive Bridge in unincorporated El Cajon.
The first deputy to arrive found the male standing near the edge of the Greenfield Bridge that passes over State Route 67. Deputies say it was apparent the man was attempting to fall onto the highway into moving traffic.
Deputies learned the male was upset and wanted to kill himself by jumping off the bridge. Deputies were able to successfully persuade the man off the bridge and he was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
