SOLANA BEACH–A man Tuesday suffered a gunshot wound to his hand during a brawl at a shopping center in Solana Beach, authorities said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded, just after 8:30 p.m., to a report of a large fight involving two groups of males at the Lomas Santa Fe Plaza, located at the 900 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive.

Multiple callers reported the incident with some mentioning the presence of a gun and possibly hearing gunshots. Everyone involved in the fight fled the scene prior to the arrival of Sheriff deputies.

A deputy located one of the involved suspects in a nearby apartment complex and he was detained for questioning. A short time later, a 21-year-old male arrived at Palomar Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his hand.

He was interviewed regarding the incident.

During the investigation at least one of the suspects interviewed admitted gang association.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
