SAN DIEGO–A 53-year-old woman walking Friday on a hillside trail located east of the Starlight Mobile Home park in unincorporated El Cajon was nearly strangled by an unknown man, authorities report.
The suspect attacked the woman from behind about 9:15 a.m., and wrapped some sort of cable or cord around her neck causing her to lose consciousness. The victim was able to escape from the man’s hold, and last saw him run towards the hillside.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately six feet tall, in his mid-thirties wearing a blue plaid shirt, and baggy jeans.
Deputies responded with the assistance of ASTREA and conducted a search of the area for the suspect. He was not located. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries she sustained to her neck.
