VISTA–Authorities are investigating the death of a man found shot near a residence in Vista early Tuesday morning, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Just before 1 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Vista for an unknown disturbance. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot. The Vista Fire Department transported the victim to a local area hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating the case. The identity of the victim is known to investigators; however, his name is being withheld pending family notification.
