Otay Mesa, CA–A man was arrested Monday after being found with a ghost gun outside of a county jail in South Bay, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 400 block of Alta Road in Otay Mesa.

Deputies from the East Mesa Reentry Facility and George Bailey Detention Facility were patrolling the parking lots when they saw a car enter a restricted area, Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Aaron Brooke stated in the department’s news release.

Deputies made a traffic stop and contacted the occupants in the vehicle. With their consent, deputies searched the car and found a loaded 9mm ghost gun with no identifying serial number inside of a backpack on the passenger floorboard.

During the investigation, 21-year-old Isaiah Cisneros admitted the ghost gun belonged to him. He was arrested and booked into the San Diego Central Jail for possession of a firearm on jail grounds, possession of a concealed firearm, and possession of a ghost gun.
