Vista, CA–A man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of breaking into a North County business and stealing around $20,000 worth of property, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

The burglary occurred on January 15 around 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of Business Park Drive in Vista. Two men entered a secure area of the business and loaded their white pickup truck with tools and other items before quickly leaving the area.

On Monday, the theft was discovered and reported to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies arrived at the business to investigate the burglary. As deputies watched surveillance video of the incident, they recognized the suspects’ truck from an unrelated call for service earlier that morning.

As a result, deputies were able to identify one of the suspects and his place of residence. Sheriff’s Department detectives secured a search warrant for the truck and the suspect’s home. During the search, detectives found the majority of the stolen items at the home. A firearm, firearm parts, and ammunition were also located. All of the recovered items were returned to the business.

Detectives will continue to work on identifying and locating the second suspect in the incident.

Anyone with information on the incident can call the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.
