SAN DIEGO–Crews will close the northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) Sorrento Valley Road off-ramp from Friday at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. The closure is necessary for pavement and restriping work as part of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project.

During the closure, motorists will be advised to exit at Vista Sorrento Parkway/Mira Mesa Boulevard, then travel north on Vista Sorrento Parkway, east on Mira Sorrento Place, south on Scranton Road and west on Mira Mesa Boulevard to Sorrento Valley Road.

Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of State Route 52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard.   The project includes construction of a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road, bridge widening and ramp modifications.

The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
