Oceanside, CA–A brush fire near the Sprinter train tracks threatened homes Friday morning near Oceanside and College Boulevards in Oceanside, authorities report.
Oceanside firefighters were dispatched at 10:30 a.m. to a reported brush fire on the south side of the Sprinter tracks in the Southwest corner of Oceanside and College.
The quarter acre brush fire ran up the hill threatening homes on Marcella Street. Carlsbad firefighters were called to the scene to contain the blaze from threatening the homes.
Fire crews were able to contain the blaze about 20 minutes after arrival. No homes or property was damaged. No civilians or firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
