San Diego, CA–Environmental health officials have lifted the water contact closure for the Coronado shoreline.
Recent water quality samples meet state health standards, officials said.
Environmental health has issued a water contact warning to beachgoers for the Silver Strand shoreline. South swell conditions are present and pushing ocean waters from the south to the north.
Beachgoers also are advised that bacteria levels exceed state health standards, and ocean waters may contain sewage and may cause illness.
Shelter Island in San Diego Bay, Tidelands Park in Coronado, Campland and North Cove Vacation Isle in Mission Bay, La Jolla Cove, and Children’s Pool in La Jolla remain under advisory.
Imperial Beach and Tijuana Slough shoreline remain closed due to high bacteria levels in the water.
The ocean shoreline from the International Border to Carnation Avenue north of Imperial Beach will remain closed due to a known sewage release.
Ocean waters will remain closed until sampling and field observations confirm these areas are safe for water contact.
