SAN DIEGO–The County of San Diego said Friday it will help residents begin the rebuilding and recovery process from the Lilac fire by opening a Local Assistance Center Monday and starting to assess damage in fire areas as early as Friday.
The County plans to open a Local Assistance Center Monday at its Vista branch library, located at 700 Eucalyptus Ave. in Vista, to help fire survivors navigate the recovery and rebuilding process. Hours of operation are still being set.
Officials urged fire survivors to go to the fire shelters that have been set up to get short-term help finding recovery resources. Shelter information can be found at SDCountyRecovery.com.
Officials also said County damage assessment teams would begin in fire-damaged unincorporated areas as early as Friday, so long as the areas were deemed safe.
