VISTA–The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office released the identity of a man found fatally shot Tuesday morning in Vista.
The Medical Examiner conducted the autopsy Wednesday and has identified the victim as 30-year-old Oscar Ivan Hernandez, of Vista. The victim’s family has been notified of his death. The preliminary cause of death is a gunshot wound to the body and the manner of death is homicide.
Just before 1 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue for an unknown disturbance. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot. The Vista Fire Department transported the victim to a local area hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital
The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
