The water contact closure was ordered for North Beach in Coronado, the Tijuana Slough, Imperial Beach shoreline, Silver Strand shoreline, Avenida Lunar, and Coronado Lifeguard Tower.
According to county health officials, the Tijuana River is flowing and reaching recreational waters. They warn beachgoers that the ocean water contains sewage and may cause illness. The waters will remain closed until sampling and field observations confirm these areas are safe for the public,
An advisory was issued for Crown Cove in Silver Strand Bayside due to bacteria levels that have exceeded California health standards and may cause illness. Tidelands Park, North Cove Vacation Isle, Campland, La Jolla Cove, Avenida De La Playa, San Luis Rey River in Oceanside, and La Jolla Children’s Pool remain under advisory.
