San Diego, CA–A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter aircrew on Wednesday medically evacuated a man off the commercial fishing vessel Legacy approximately one mile west of San Clemente Island.
Coast Guard Sector San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center watchstanders received notification from the Legacy around 4:15 p.m. reporting that a 32-year-old crew member onboard was experiencing symptoms of a seizure and needed to be evacuated.
Watchstanders coordinated the launch of an Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to conduct a medevac around 5:10 p.m.
The aircrew arrived on-scene, hoisted the man into the helicopter, and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical services at Sector San Diego.
