San Diego, CA–The U.S. Coast Guard interdicted 11 suspected undocumented individuals March 15 on a vessel approximately seven miles west of Imperial Beach, officials said.
At about 12:57 p.m., crew members aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sea Otter spotted a vessel entering U.S. waters and deployed a boarding team to investigate.
The boarding team intercepted the vessel and encountered the individuals on board, all of whom claimed Mexican nationality, according to authorities.
A boat crew from Coast Guard Station San Diego assisted in the operation, transporting the vessel and the individuals to U.S. Border Patrol personnel at Ballast Point.
