Deputy Attorney General Raymond Liddy

SAN DIEGO–State Deputy Attorney General Raymond Liddy today was arrested at his Coronado home and charged with possession of child pornography, according to local media reports.

Liddy, 53, son of Watergate figure, G. Gordon Liddy, was accused of downloading images of minors engaging in sexual acts on his home computer, according to court records.

Court documents further states that in January 2017, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had received tips from an unnamed electronic service provider that a user had allegedly uploaded images of child pornography.

In June, the FBI and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children located and identified the suspect accused of uploading the images.

Liddy pleaded guilty Wednesday in US District Court Southern District of California, San Diego before Judge Jan Adler. He was released on a $100,000 bond, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

Liddy is currently on administrative leave by the California attorney general’s office.
