SPRING VALLEY–Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a threatening message written on the stall of a bathroom at Steam Academy in Spring Valley.

Deputies were called to the campus at 1001 Leland Street just before 9 a.m. on Friday.

The threatening message was written on the stall of a bathroom indicating there was going to be a school shooting on February 23.  Deputies are working closely with the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, but at this time the message is not deemed credible. Students wear dismissed at normal schedule at 3:05 p.m. Deputies will be providing extra patrols at the school.

The Sheriff’s Department and local school districts take every threat seriously and nothing can be dismissed or ignored.
