San Diego, CA–Walden Family Services announced that CEO Teresa Stivers was recognized as an honoree during this year’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
The honor was presented by Assemblymember Chris Ward (District 78) during Walden’s inaugural Night at the Cabaret fundraising event, held Friday evening at The Abbey on Fifth in San Diego.
The nonprofit organization says the recognition celebrates Stivers’ exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to uplifting others and strengthening the well-being of communities across California. At the helm of Walden Family Services, Stivers has empowered foster children, youth, and families to grow, thrive, and love in the communities they call home.
“Her tireless advocacy and inclusive vision have created lasting change and a brighter future for countless young people,” Walden Family Services stated in their news release. “Through her work, Teresa exemplifies the civic and cultural spirit honored throughout AAPI Heritage Month. Her leadership not only reflects the legacy of the AAPI community but also inspires continued progress in equity, opportunity, and compassion.”
Walden Family Services is a California-based nonprofit agency that has been serving children and families for over 48 years. The organization specializes in foster care, adoption, and youth services, with a focus on supporting children and teens with complex needs, including those in the LGBTQ+ community and those with developmental disabilities. Walden’s programs provide individualized care and support to ensure every child can thrive in a safe, stable, and loving environment.
