San Diego, CA–Pizza Guys, a Sacramento-based pizza franchise, is expanding its footprint in San Diego with the opening of its fourth restaurant on Feb. 26, company officials announced.
The new eatery is located at 5375 Napa St., Unit 105, near University of San Diego. The site is expected to serve students, families and residents in the surrounding neighborhood. Franchise leaders say they hope the location will become a regular gathering spot for the community.
The restaurant is owned and operated by San Diego resident Mert Egilmez, who transitioned into franchising after a career in high-tech recruiting and sales. Egilmez said the move was fueled by a desire to pursue a business aligned with his personal interests.
“I wanted to do something I’d genuinely enjoy every day, and pizza has always been a big part of my life,” Egilmez said. “When I met with the Pizza Guys team and tried the food, I could taste the difference right away. Pizza Guys’ menu fits the demand in San Diego for food that is not only delicious, but high-quality, and I look forward to bringing this to my community.”
Company officials said Egilmez was drawn to the franchise’s focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and its established leadership team.
“Mert has the exact kind of entrepreneurial spirit and passion that we want representing Pizza Guys,” said Shahpour Nejad, CEO and founder of the company. “His commitment to quality perfectly aligns with our mission. San Diego is a city that appreciates real, premium food, and we’re excited for them to experience pizza the Pizza Guys way.”
Founded nearly four decades ago, Pizza Guys specializes in artisan-style pizzas, with dough prepared fresh daily at each location. The company emphasizes customer service and affordability while maintaining a focus on quality ingredients and specialty menu offerings.
