Chula Vista, CA–The city of Chula will host its annual South Bay Earth Day celebration at the Port of San Diego’s Bayfront Park on April 13.
The event will feature environmentally-themed activities, workshops, exhibits, vendors, art, food and drink, nonprofits, how-to, and all-day live entertainment featuring a nationally recognized, surprise headline recording artist.
Over 50 green vendors will be available to demonstrate and showcase sustainable and eco-conscious home furnishings, jewelry, apparel, garden gadgets, and other products.
Local nonprofits Chula Vista Water Sports and Ocean Connectors with The Kayak Café; Citizens Climate Lobby, Living Coast Discovery Center, MAAC Project, SanDiego350, San Diego Community Power; and Creation Care Ministry will be onsite to meet with visitors.
Artist Alley will showcase beautiful art creations with environmentally safe art exhibits. There are three live painters on-site, and many artists will be present to talk about their works. Some items will be available for purchase.
The Kid Zone will feature paint or decorate-free (one per household) kitchen waste caddies, recyclable piñatas, live animals, interactive games, and conservation in the Living Coast Discovery Center.
Food trucks will be on-site to serve a variety of meals and beverages.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Port of San Diego’s Bayfront Park, 980 Marina Way in Chula Vista.
South Bay Earth Day, presented by the Port of San Diego Experiences, has been led by the City of Chula Vista since 2018.
