Oceanside, CA–The Old Globe’s “Globe for All” Tour will make a stop at the Oceanside Public Library on November 15 for a free community performance of William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.”
Presented in partnership with the Oceanside Public Library, the tour aims to bring high-quality theater to communities across San Diego County. The production, directed by Marcela Lorca, features a versatile cast of performers in one of Shakespeare’s most enduring political dramas.
“Julius Caesar” tells the story of a Roman leader whose growing ambition sparks fears of tyranny. As Caesar’s power expands, Senators Brutus and Cassius wrestle with questions of loyalty, honor, and the cost of freedom.
The performance will take place at 3 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms, located at 330 North Coast Highway. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free, and attendees can register in advance through the library’s online calendar at oceansidelibrary.org. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Globe for All Tour is dedicated to the memory of Silvija Devine, an early supporter of the program alongside Elaine Bennett Darwin. Lead support for the tour is provided by Darwin and Qualcomm, with additional backing from The Peggy and Robert Matthews Foundation, The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation, and PNC Bank.
