TERI Players bring “A Christmas Carol” to The Bornemann Theatre

By Gina Yarbrough

San Marcos, CA–The holiday season is shining bright on the TERI Campus of Life as the TERI Players unwrap a heartfelt retelling of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

The TERI Players—an inspiring company of adults with special needs from TERI’s Performing Arts Program—are no strangers to bringing joy to the stage. As the Bornemann Theatre’s resident troupe, they’ve built a reputation for transforming every production into a celebration of creativity, talent, and pure theatrical magic.

This year’s holiday production promises a blend of humor, heartfelt moments, and seasonal sparkle, all wrapped in a sensory-friendly environment thoughtfully crafted for audiences of all abilities. And for the first time ever, the company is venturing into multimedia.

“This production marks the first time we’ve incorporated multimedia film elements,” said Kyle Ramirez, Director of the Performing Arts Program at TERI Campus of Life. “It gives our actors a chance to shine both live on stage and through filmed segments. It’s incredible to see them stretch their storytelling skills in new ways.”

Of course, no Christmas tale is more enduring than the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge, the miser who learns—thanks to three visiting spirits—that generosity and love are worth far more than gold. The TERI Players breathe fresh life into Scrooge’s timeless journey, delivering a production brimming with warmth and wonder.

Performances are scheduled for Dec. 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. at the Bornemann Theatre on the TERI Campus of Life, located at 555 Deer Springs Road in San Marcos. Tickets start at $30, and are available at thebornemann.com.

Pre-show dining is available on site at the TERI Common Grounds Café. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. Doors and concessions at The Bornemann open at 6 p.m.

Proceeds from all TERI Players productions directly support TERI’s 20 programs that empower individuals with autism and developmental disabilities through lifelong education, family support, the arts, vocational training, and enrichment services.
