Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon has announced plans for a U.S. and Canada summer tour, including a stop in San Diego as part of his extended “A Quiet Celebration Tour.”
The Grammy-nominated artist will perform June 9 at Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in downtown San Diego.
The newly added dates follow a successful and critically acclaimed U.S. run in 2025, which Simon said inspired him to expand the tour to some of North America’s premier outdoor summer venues.
The show will unfold in two parts. It will open with a performance of Simon’s Grammy-nominated 33-minute continuous composition, “Seven Psalms,” a piece widely praised by critics around the world. After a brief intermission, Simon will return to the stage to perform a selection of his greatest hits along with deeper cuts spanning his decades-long career.
The summer tour is scheduled to begin June 4 in Palo Alto, California, and will also include dates at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Simon will be joined by a full band featuring Edie Brickell (vocals), Mark Stewart (guitar), Bakithi Kumalo (bass), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Gyan Riley (guitar), Matt Chamberlin (drums), Nancy Stagnitta (flute), Caleb Burhans (viola) and Eugene Friesen (cello).
