Coronado, CA–Writer and director Jack Kenny’s award-winning neo-noir, “Tears to a Glass Eye,” is set to premiere at the 10th annual Coronado Island Film Festival in November.
The film stars Chris Browning as Martin Dye and Natasha Henstridge as Dori in a gripping mystery set in a small-town environment.
“Tears to a Glass Eye” follows retired L.A. detective Martin Dye as he investigates a 20-year-old car crash involving a recently deceased drug dealer. A bag of missing money and decades of secrets lead Dye through a web of deception, culminating in a shocking conclusion. The film has garnered acclaim worldwide, winning awards for Best Director, Best Mystery, Best Film Noir, and more across festivals in Los Angeles, New York, Milan, Cannes, and Portugal.
The film will screen on November 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, with Kenny available for audience Q&A. Also available will be actor Chris Browning, co-star Natasha Henstridge, and actor Sam Cass (who plays the nefarious Jimmy Kyle).
“A neo-noir detective film must have some traditional noir elements, but it must also have some differences,” said Kenny. “I wanted ‘Tears to a Glass Eye’ to thrill audiences with mystery while also giving them moments of relatability and light. It’s set in an everyday American town, but anything can happen here.”
The Colorado Film Festival will feature more than 130 films, panels, red carpet events, and community gatherings across iconic Coronado venues, including the Hotel del Coronado, Village Theater, Sacred Heart Community Center, John D. Spreckels Center, Coronado Public Library, and Coronado Performing Arts Center.
