San Diego, CA–Though still in the development phase, the future PB Arts Center is already opening its doors to the community through creative, family-friendly events.
On Feb. 6, the organization will host Cupid’s Crafters, a free after-school valentine-making event for elementary and middle school students. The drop-in program will run from 2 to 5 p.m. and feature a variety of hands-on activity stations, including Valentine card making, goodie bag decorating and friendship bracelet creation.
Students may take their crafts home or choose to donate them to a shared collection that will be distributed to senior citizens in the Pacific Beach community.
The event will be held outdoors in the “Dream Factory,” the back lot of the future PB Arts Center, located at 4606 Ingraham St. in Pacific Beach, across from Trader Joe’s. Elementary school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Community members interested in volunteering for the event may sign up using the same online form provided for participants. Those wishing to support Cupid’s Crafters or contribute to the PB Arts Center’s capital campaign can make donations at givebutter.com/PBArtsCenter. Proceeds support the development of the planned arts venue.
The PB Arts Center is a project of BeautifulPB, which is leading the revitalization of a long-vacant mid-century building in the heart of Pacific Beach. Once completed, the center will serve as a multipurpose arts venue offering affordable classes, performances, festivals and cultural programming designed to connect residents, neighboring communities and visitors while fostering creativity and artistic expression.
