Lemon Grove, CA–Authorities have released the names of the victim and suspect involved in a fatal stabbing earlier this week in Lemon Grove.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Julio Orozco Cabrera. The suspect, 59-year-old Marvin Lester Sears, was known to Cabrera, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.
On April 15, deputies responded to a call around 9:05 p.m. reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 7800 block of Broadway. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man in his twenties suffering from traumatic injuries. He was provided medical aid and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Deputies detained the suspect at the scene.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are continuing their investigation. The motive behind the incident remains unclear. However, investigators believe it was an isolated event, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
