CARLSBAD, CA–Carlsbad police have arrested an Oceanside man in connection with a series of assaults reported at the Calavera Preserve over the past several weeks, authorities said.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Felix Blanco. He was arrested on seven counts of assault and booked into the Vista Detention Facility, police said.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, officers received multiple reports of a male suspect riding an electric bicycle who allegedly approached female trail users from behind and struck their buttocks as he passed.
On Friday, officers responded to a report of a similar incident at the preserve. Police said responding officers located a suspect in the area who matched the description provided by the victim. Following an investigation, the individual was taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing.
