Escondido, CA–A 22-year-old Valley Center man was killed Sunday morning when he lost control of his vehicle, collided with a tree, and rolled over into a home’s back yard.
The crash occurred at 3:24 a.m. on East El Norte Pkwy just east of Lincoln Avenue. No other vehicles were involved and there are no known witnesses, the Escondido Police Department stated in a news release.
Authorities closed Eastbound El Norte Parkway for several hours while investigators were on scene.
The driver, whose name is being withheld until his family is notified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Escondido police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
