San Diego, CA–Rise & Shine Hospitality Group is continuing its growth, planning to expand both its Breakfast Republic and Breakfast Company brands with new restaurant openings in Southern California and Texas.
New Breakfast Republic restaurants are planned for Palm Springs, Orange County, and Los Angeles, further strengthening the brand’s presence throughout California. In addition, Rise & Shine is preparing to introduce Breakfast Company to Texas by opening the brand’s first restaurant there. The new location, Greenville Breakfast Company, is scheduled to open in the Dallas area later this year.
The Texas debut of Breakfast Company represents the first step in Rise & Shine’s broader expansion into the state, with Breakfast Republic locations also planned.
As part of the company’s ongoing real estate strategy, Breakfast Republic’s Encinitas (est. 2016), North Park (the original; est. 2015), and Ocean Beach (est. 2017) locations will serve their final guests on Sunday, August 9. The closures reflect lease expirations and strategic portfolio decisions as the company continues to position its portfolio for long-term growth and invest in opportunities that support its future.
“Over the years, we’ve always approached growth thoughtfully, and that means continually evaluating our restaurant portfolio while investing in new opportunities,” said Johan Engman, founder of Rise & Shine Hospitality Group. “We’re incredibly excited about what’s ahead. We’re expanding Breakfast Republic’s footprint throughout California while introducing Breakfast Company to Texas for the very first time. It’s an exciting new chapter for our team, our guests, and our company.”
Breakfast Republic has become one of Southern California’s most beloved breakfast concepts, known for its chef-driven menu, creative twists on classic breakfast favorites, and energetic dining experience. Locations will remain in East Village, Liberty Station, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach, and Scripps Ranch, along with six others outside of San Diego (Costa Mesa, Culver City, Echo Park, Irvine, Long Beach, and Palm Desert).
Breakfast Company currently operates restaurants in San Diego (Gaslamp, Mission Valley) and Los Angeles (West Hollywood) and has built a loyal following for its elevated take on classic breakfast and brunch favorites.
While the company says goodbye to three Breakfast Republic locations, Rise & Shine remains committed to growing both brands and looks forward to welcoming guests to new communities in California and Texas.
Additional details on the upcoming openings will be announced in the coming months.
